Rob Bell – One Man And His iPad
My name’s Rob Bell, and I love Technology! Ever since I was eight years old and got my first computer – a ZX80, I’ve been into technology and computers, and I’ve been on the Web since its’ birth. My career’s mainly been marketing technology products – introducing new products to new and existing markets, so I’ve always had a love of ‘game changers’, devices that completely transform how we live and work.
I’ve been lucky to live in the time where we’ve seen and experienced the birth of many incredible gadgets and devices, and feel I was destined to be around now – at the very beginning of the Computer Age, which then became the Internet Age, and now, at the beginning of Mobile Age, where we are set free from the bonds of traditional, single-PC-single-location life. Let’s just call it all the Information Age, for simplicity’s sake!
Computers and Technology have accelerated humanity so much faster than evolution – in less than 50 years, they’ve become ubiquitous. Technology’s in almost everything around you these days. I can now run a business from anywhere in the World where I can get an Internet signal, and so can you.
A large portion of my day to day work is helping businesses to become more profitable, using the Internet, Cloud Computing – Web Apps and iPhone Apps mainly – allowing business owners better access to real-time company information and business process. They can access their business systems from anywhere through their iPhones – meaning they can be more effective, access real-time info, and achieve greatness faster and easier.
This blog is the successor to the iPhone blog I never wrote – it’s going to be filled with iPad news, apps, reviews, how-tos and much more. Everything’s going to be written, edited, posted and uploaded from my iPad – as soon as it arrives! 3 days til estimated shipping date! I might use my iPhone’s measly 2MP camera or my SLR to take pics, but all the editing is done on the iPad. I want to show clients and all you readers how it’s possible to do great things, without being tied to your desk.
